Your first stop for space-faring cheese. |
8/21/2005 - Wow. it has been over a year since I've updated my website...  That's interesting I guess, though I've been rather busy over the past year, what with being a senior and preparing for college and drama and calculus and all sorts of good stuff like that. When you're doing suff like that, preparing for the next stage in your life, I guess updating a website really doesn't rate as high. Now don't get me wrong, I have reallly enjoyed having this website, for the year that I've operated it. I've gotten some nice feedback (mostly from people I know), but I also learned a lot about programming in HTML.   I had also began tutorials in javascript, and I had a couple plans to work with that, but it didn't work out.   So anyway, maybe in the future, I'll do more with this kind of thing. I have no idea where I my life will go, or in which direction God will steer me.   However, my main purpose for writing this is to let everyone know that there will be no more updates to Mycheesewedge.tripod.com. I have just started college (class actually begins tomorrow, bright and early), and I will not have any time to work on this.  because I know that I didn't update during my senior year, I certainly will not be updating now.   Who knows, though. Maybe I will do another website sometime. I will be leaving the site here, with the archives and my special poetry intact, just without updates (I actually had gotten to the point where I could not think of anything else to post, so that kindof helped a bit in my not updating). However, I will still be living, so if you are really that interested in me, please feel free to read my blog (which I do update regularly, in fact: http://spaces.msn.com/members/rnelson47/ Or you can email me at my new Nebraska Wesleyan University Email address: Rnelson1@nebrwesleyan.edu If any of you guys still have any questions about anything (Star Trek, TI-Calculators, or anything) give me a ring. I'll be there. Well, this has taken enough time to get through. I'm gonna sign out now. So peace out, enjoy the site, and thanks for coming. -Richie N- 7-5-04 - Hello everyone   *uurgh*   Didn't sleep very well last night, and I don't know why.  So I grabbed the chance and got some work done on Mr. Website here.   Not a lot of major stuff yet, but I just posted the new updated version of MirageOS, MirageOS v1.2.  I also uploaded the other application Cabamap, which was also developed by Detached Solutions.   Anyways, this new version of MiragOS is totally cool, because they made it a lot sleeker and faster, because they took some things out that were never used.  It also just makes the entire Application more stable.  If you have the new version 1.2, then you may have noticed that BASIC programs run very quickly.   Well, they do, and that is good.   *Yay!!*   So now I've turned my Areaform program into a MirageOS compactible program, so you can run it from there. It is a good deal. I suppose I'll try to update my Areaform program soon, before I forget everthing I learned in Algebra 3. ta ta -Richie- 6-27-04 - Yay!   Howdy everyone, I'm back!   And I brought back presents! Yay!   Ok, since I don't have a lot of time to talk today, I'll just tell you that I added a new page to my site.  It's a new poem! It's called The Time Machine, and you all should check it out, because I say so. More to come! -Richie- 4-11-04 - HAPPY EASTER my fellow peoples! We woke up this morning to a fresh blanket of snow...   In April...   Yeah.   Well, anyway, Easter Break is really great.  No school for five whole days!  I actually get to sleep in.  Yay!  And Life is good... I am currently working on some new additions to my beloved little site of cheesy goodness, including a new page about Wheat Thins.   I like Wheat Thins.   A lot.   If anyone has any questions, quandries, suggestions (especially suggestions.   I could use constructive criticism), please e-mail me at rnelson47@lycos.com.  Your e-mails would be greatly appreciated.  I get lonely... -Richie N- 4-4-04 - I took my ACT's this weekend...  Yeah.  It wasn't nearly as bad as I though it would be- it could've been a lot worse.  Then again, it could've been a lot better, but I'm not gonna complain.  I'm pretty sure that I did well, so I won't sweat over it too much.  Now I just have to wait 4-7 weeks to have my results come in. I'm sure I got a 38! Hey, it's almost that time of year again!   CHILDREN'S SHOW!!  Yep, each year, the drama department does a children's show production, and so WE get out of school for a couple days performing for all the little children here. It should be fun.  This year, we're doing The Emperor's New Clothes, which believe it or not, there are people that have never heard of it.  The thing I'm looking forward to is that the emperor gets to march onstage in his underwear!   That would be so much fun!!  Auditions are this week. Hey, I updated my Areaform program.   It now contains contains a Trig section, with identities and that good stuff.  I've also established a 'version number' system so that people know when I've updated it. If you feel compelled at all, go check out Areaform: Version 2.0.1 at me calc page.  It would make me happy, and give me warm fuzzies. Hmmmmm... On a different note, for some reason, the number of people that come and see my site each day has significantly dropped from over 70 hits a day to less than 5.  It's quite disturbing.   I think something may be wrong with tripod...   Indeed. Wow. I guess I just felt windy today, and felt compelled to right a lot.  I wonder how many people have actually made it this far into my entry?  Probably not many.  If you have, though, I wish to thank you and give you a special phrase courtesy of Mycheesewedge.tripod.com:   'I shall now stick this vat of liquid nacho cheese into my bacon-colored undergarments... WITH VIGOR!'   There now, wasn't reading this far worth it?  Now you can go and feel good about today, because A.)you made me happy, and B.)you just learned a funky, brand new phrase you can teach your friends!   That's a wrap.   See ya next time.
May the force be with you. 3-10-04 - Allrighty then.  Well, Contest is over now.   I got a 1 on my vocal and contrabass solos (a superior rating), so I am quite pleased.   It feels nice not having a solo to worry about now... Ok, got a new section up now.  I guess the proper name is a new page.  Anyway, I added a new poem to my vast archives.  Since I turned 17 a week or so ago, I wrote a poem about how old and senile am now, and recited it in church (it's a tradition).  So, I've finally gotten around to posting it up, and if you want, feel free to check it out.  It would make me feel happy and give me a warm, tingly feeling.  Thank you very much. \\ // -Richie Nelson- 3-8-04 - So, another day, another...   Something goes there...   Anyway, tomorrow, we go to contest...   AGAIN, because the day we were supposed to go to contest, we had a snow day, so Sturgis had to cancel.  It still went on though.   So, we've a three week inactive period, where we didn't go over any of our contest music.  Tomorrow should be somewhat interesting... Hey, I finally got the Animusic CD that Melissa gave me for my birthday.  Animusic is really cool.  If you've never heard of it, this guy named Wayne Lytle created this uberly cool instrumental music video collection of computer generated instruments that play themselves.  Basically, everything is computer generated, from the instruments, to the music itself (MIDI).  The first time that I saw it, my jaw literally dropped to the ground.   First off, the music itself is really cool, but the detail put into these 3D computer generated environments is awesome!  When they beat a drum, you can see the reverb, and the shadows are most superb!   I can still watch it, and still find things I've never noticed before.  I encourage you all to go visit his website at Animusic.com.  It has video clips of the album, and you can see for yourself how cool it is! -Richie- |
